Protonix (pantoprazole sodium) is another medication in the famous proton pump inhibitor classification of modern prescription medicine for treatment of erosive esophagitis and acid reflux symptoms. This medication is often prescribed for long-term use, although boasts about curing your debilitating pains associated with acid leakage in the esophagus and GERD symptomatology in eight weeks. Something to think about: The Protonix website states, regarding the 8-week cure which occasionally needs to be extended to prevent recurrence, "Controlled studies did not exist beyond 12 months" and yet some patients have reported taking this medication under physician supervision for 5 years or more. |
