While there are an abundance of medications available for acid reflux symptoms we can basically set them in five categories: Antacids, anti-gas, oral suspension, H2 blockers and PPIs (proton pump inhibitors). Each has their own unique qualities, effectiveness and related side effects. Physicians will tell you there is no cure for gastroesophageal reflux disease, however there sure seems to be a plethora of symptom treatment medications for everything from heartburn and indigestion to gas and stomach cramps. Let’s take a closer look at each category, related medications and what they do for us. |
